Producer and writer Mikey Foster’s work as part of the duo Social House had a significant impact on the sound of modern music over the last years.
In this video, he talks about his passion for music and how SPL devices influence his creative sound.
Vitalizer Mk3-T:
“Some people have their famous vintage gear for a specific sound. SPL is one of those sounds. I’ve got an SPL Vitalizer – it was one of the first versions of it. I loved it, it was great. It did something that nothing else ever did. It felt like such a good sounding piece of gear and I started to use it as much as I could.”
“Not like fanboying, but I was so excited to get the new version of the Vitalizer. It is sounding even more impressive!”
Channel One Mk3:
“With the Channel One Mk3, I use the whole strip the whole time. I try to make it part of what the vocals sound like. Being able to use all of the things that given.”
“I’m a huge fan of the Transient Designer! On drums, on anything really. It just always works.”
“I do love the De-Esser, because I feel like it’s the most natural one that I’ve ever heard so far.”
“I like the EQ, I like the Air Band – it adds just a little bit of extra love.”
“I just think that SPL makes some good products. Really, really good company! This is like a relationship – me and SPL.”
