SPL Phonitor 2
The headphone monitoring amp and preamplifier with Phonitor Matrix.

The recommended retail price for the Phonitor One is 425,00 € (including 19% German VAT).
Phonitor Matrix?
Music is normally produced and mixed for playback on stereo speakers. Listening on headphones is different from listening on loudspeakers. The biggest difference is the lack of crossing signals of the sound signal from the left speaker to the right ear and from the right speaker to the left ear. These crossing signals are missing in conventional headphone listening, because there are no signals crossing from one side of the headphones to the other. This results in an unnaturally wide stereo stage. Sound sources are not played back at their actual position in the stereo spectrum. The mix or mastering engineer hears a false representation of the stereo sound image through the headphones, making it dramatically more difficult to find the right decisions when mixing and mastering.
The SPL Phonitor Matrix can correct this false stereo image with an analog circuitry.
The two main parameters of the Phonitor Matrix are Crossfeed and Angle:
- Crossfeed determines the crossing signals of the channels.
- Angle determines the opening angle of the stereo image.
During conventional listening on headphones, our brain can compensate a certain level of false playback representation – but this is very exhausting and leads to listening fatigue.
The Phonitor Matrix not only ensures a correct representation of the stereo image, but also a relaxed listening experience. So nothing stands in the way of a successful and long mixing session on headphones.

Exact details about the process:
On December 22, 2021, we will raffle off a Phonitor 2, a Phonitor One d and a Phonitor One among all SPL Community News subscribers – just in time for Christmas, we will then inform the lucky ones via email on December 25th. We will then publish a post with the first names and the first letter of the last name of the winners on our social media channels – so anonymity is assured. However, we can all be sure that the lucky winners will check their e-mail inbox attentively.

Conditions of participation:
1. The participant is at least 18 years old.
2. The SPL X-mas Give-Away 2021 will start on on December 1st, 2021, 9:00 CET and will end on December 22, 2021, 09:00 CET. Subsequent subscribers will not be included.
3. There will be a draw on December 22, 2021 to determine which participants will receive the Phonitor 2, the Phonitor One d and the Phonitor One.
4. The drawn participant will receive an email after the draw, or will be contacted by mail if he or she has sent a postcard.
5. If we do not receive a response from a drawn participant until January 10, 2022 12:00 CET, another participant will be selected in a repeat draw. If this participant also does not respond within 10 working days, we will repeat this procedure two more times.
6. Early termination and changes:
We reserve the right to cancel the SPL X-mas Give-Away 2021 in whole or in part at any time, even without adherence to deadlines, or to change its course, if for technical or legal reasons it is not possible to guarantee a proper execution of the SPL X-mas Give-Away 2021.
The SPL X-mas Give-Away 2021 is exclusively organized by SPL. Social media channels like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are not involved in this raffle.
These terms and conditions of participation apply to all participants of the SPL X-mas Give-Away 2021. By participating in the SPL X-mas Give-Away 2021 all participants confirm that they have read and accepted the terms and conditions of participation and automatically agree on them by joining.
