“The first power amplifier within the Professional Fidelity series was the Performer s800 about five years ago, after which the m1000 monos came onto the market. The new Performer s1200 is based on them. All devices are developed and built in Niederkrüchten on the beautiful Lower Rhine, Germany as mentioned above.”
VOLTAiR Technology:
“The VOLTAiR input stage is the most technically exciting part of the power amplifier. Typical OpAmps work with +/-15VDC and are not suitable for higher voltages, which is in this case desired. The SPL OpAmps developed for this purpose have with +/-60VDC on average a 50% larger headroom already at the beginning of the input stage and can play in a figurative sense much more relaxed. In the case of the s1200 it is even +/-80VDC in the output stage. This way all components can make themselves comfortable at their optimal operating range and don’t have to constantly drive to their limits. This also reduces noise and distortion and increases the dynamic range.”

“And how does the Performer s1200 sound?
After listening for many hours with the greatest pleasure, it then became clear to me: fatigue-free long-term listening is one of its greatest strengths. Add to that a remarkably free, clean mid-high range that sounds like a well-cleaned window. And an extremely well-contoured, dust-dry bass – thanks to the high damping factor – that is also colorful.”
Conlusion:
“Things that give pleasure, so you could summarize SPL products, because they are good as a recommendation for good friends. For more than 90% of the speakers on the world market, a safe bank with long-term suitability guarantee and lots of great listening fun. Simply awesome!”
