SPL started out in 1983 …
… as a design company driven by innovation and out-of-the-box thinking. Creating products for the recording studio was the passion of the very first days and it still is.
The SX2 Psychoacoustic Processor became SPL’s first successful product after it’s invention in 1988. Being called Vitalizer since 1991 it achieved a cult status. Engineers and producers used it as a 'secret weapon' in the 1990s and quite many still do today.
„The times they are a-changin’“. How true is that for the recording studios.
Our Studio series today focusses on audio gear complementing the DAW (digital audio workstation). Everything you need to make good recordings with and around the computer.
Microphone preamplifiers and channel strips at the front end. Interfaces to get in and out of the DAW. Summing devices and processors to improve mixes and monitor controllers to drive amps and speakers at the back end.
Not to forget headphone amplifiers with Phonitor Matrix to create better mixes on phones.
